2 Chronicles in the Daily Office Lectionary
The Daily Office Lectionary appoints 2 Chronicles twice in its two-year course and twice on Holy Days. The course reads 4 of its 36 chapters, 0 of them in full.
Chapter by chapter
- Year One reads chapters 6–7, 29–30 during the Season after Pentecost, at Morning Prayer.
- Year Two does not read it in the course.
2 Chronicles chapters: Year One only 6–7, 29–30; not in the two-year course 1–5, 8–28, 31–36; in part 6–7, 29–30.
- Year One only
- Year Two only
- Both years
- Half filled: only part of the chapter
- Not in the two-year course
When both offices have two lessons, “the Old Testament Reading for the alternate year is used as the First Reading at Evening Prayer” (BCP p. 934). This site and the app follow that rubric, so most of these lessons are heard twice: at Morning Prayer in the year listed, and at Evening Prayer on the same day in the other year.
